Fatima, the war nurse by Nassefh Macla

Fatima the war nurse was published on year 2016 in Dagmay, it is a poem about the reality of Mindanao's abundance: the never-ending battles with Muslims. And the author communicated his sentiments and shared his experience with us through imagery and symbolism in his poems, which employs the figure Fatima to encourage hope. The author grew up witnessing fighting between his clan and the government, and through the use of imagery and symbolism, he depicts the anger of warfare and the attainment of peace. The poem began by expressing how most nurses or war nurses felt while on the job, constantly secretly hoped that no one had been seriously harmed. The author also uses imagery throughout the poem to immerse the reader in the sensation of being a disguised military nurse. The author made us visualize the types of wounds that these warriors would receive. Regardless of the tragic outcomes, nurses existed to be courageous enough to take on the feminine duty of caring for and healing the warriors. They are always ready to give hope and light to their patients, and their worry is hidden behind a smile. However, in the poem, I conclude that a veiled nurse's experience differs from that of a non-veiled nurse. His point is to help us describe his experiences and observation in Bangsamoro through his talent in writing.

It was also stated their how the Moro's or Muslim are being misjudged them as a part or a rebel group just because they are wearing some viel, but it doesn't stop the nurse to continue her service, I admired the character for continuing to work despite the hatred she has received merely because of her cultural practice of wearing a veil. People may think she's filthy, yet she's strong enough to serve. Some of the poem's symbolism includes veils, which for Moro people represent a sign of liberty or freedom from male molestation. Nurses must wear veils to protect themselves since they treat male soldiers. Fatima symbolizes our hope for obtaining the peace we sought for our country. A military nurse who was mocked for her appearance but persevered in serving and becoming a light of hope for the warriors. Fatima has faced adversity, but she is determined to use her healing hands to help others and be an instrument of Allah in providing hope to others.

To summarize, author Nassefh Macla wishes for us to never lose hope that all will be beautiful again.
