Fatima the war nurse was published on year 2016 in Dagmay, it is a poem about the reality of Mindanao's abundance: the never-ending battles with Muslims. And the author communicated his sentiments and shared his experience with us through imagery and symbolism in his poems, which employs the figure Fatima to encourage hope. The author grew up witnessing fighting between his clan and the government, and through the use of imagery and symbolism, he depicts the anger of warfare and the attainment of peace. The poem began by expressing how most nurses or war nurses felt while on the job, constantly secretly hoped that no one had been seriously harmed. The author also uses imagery throughout the poem to immerse the reader in the sensation of being a disguised military nurse.
